We will hold each other accountable to address behavior that promotes: sexism, racism/xenophobia, homophobia/transphobia, ableism or other forms of oppression.
We welcome conflict and generative critique in this space. You're empowered to act and speak directly with the intention of collective growth. If someone is acting or speaking in a disruptive or harmful way, talk to them and/or find other folks to do so. If you need further support, ask a volunteer.
These are shared spaces - all present can and should create the space they want and need as opposed to waiting on some top down hierarchy/leaders to do so! Care for the spaces. Clean up after yourself. Take initiative if you see space-related needs.
We will create a space that is supportive for children. We look out for and encourage the children who are present.
This is a space for knowledge and skill sharing and learning. We're all learners and teachers. We honor and make space for different types of knowledge. No one knows everything, everyone knows something, and together we know a lot!
This is a public event - keep security considerations in mind! Meeting people and forming relationships is encouraged and key to keeping us safe, but be mindful of sharing info you wouldn't want shared in a courtroom. Take photos/videos with consent only. Ask before putting someone else on your social media! No live streaming and really think about your motivation and intended audience before posting.
This is a place to form affinity in antagonism to colonial, white supremacist, and capitalist thoughts and tactics.
*Space hosts may include additional community invitations.
